- Rize Expands in Southeast Asia: Rize targets Indonesia and Vietnam for growth with the new funding.
Singapore-based agritech company Rize has successfully secured US$14 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was co-led by prominent investment firms including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, GenZero (Temasek’s sustainable investment arm), Temasek itself, and Wavemaker Impact.
Rize’s innovative platform consolidates crucial agricultural data to empower rice farmers.
This data helps them adapt to the challenges of climate change, improve crop yields, and optimize resource management. By analyzing farm performance and crop yields, Rize equips farmers with the knowledge to reduce expenses and water consumption.
About Rize:
The company advocates for sustainable farming practices such as alternate wetting and drying (AWD) and direct seeding rice (DSR).
AWD is a water-saving technique that involves strategically flooding and drying rice fields. DSR, on the other hand, eliminates the need for transplanting seedlings, further streamlining the cultivation process.

Both methods contribute to water conservation and methane emission reduction without sacrificing harvest quality.
Rize intends to utilize the fresh capital to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, targeting key markets like Indonesia and Vietnam. Additionally, the company plans to bolster its team of agronomy experts, aiming to surpass 100 personnel.
This strategic growth will solidify Rize’s position as a frontrunner in sustainable rice farming solutions.
