Science and technology, he said, will be central to modernising agriculture through innovations in biotechnology, digital trade, and automation.

Collaboration among scientists, enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers will be essential to building a more efficient, sustainable system. Lâm also urged stronger ecosystem management, particularly in the Mekong Delta and coastal areas, alongside administrative reforms to cut bureaucracy and attract investment in green and circular economy projects.

The Party leader called for a skilled civil service and better training in agricultural economics, resource management, and climate science.

Concluding the ceremony, he presented the First-Class Labour Order to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, recognising its contribution to Việt Nam’s green transition and reaffirming its central role in shaping a sustainable future.
