Swedish startup Agteria Biotech has raised €6 million in seed funding to develop its methane-reducing solution for cattle, a major contributor to climate change.

The funding round was co-led by Industrifonden and AgriZeroNZ, with support from Norrsken Launcher and Mudcake.

Agteria aims to cut 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions by tackling methane from livestock digestion.

The startup, founded in 2023 by Martin Blomberg, Tommi Remonen, and Maia Lidbeck, has developed a patent-pending molecule that significantly reduces methane emissions from cattle.

Unlike existing solutions, Agteria’s approach is highly effective, scalable, and cost-efficient, making it an attractive option for meat and dairy producers.

The fresh investment will support regulatory approval and safety studies to bring the solution to market.
