Valencia-based agri-tech startup ODOS has secured €680,000 in fresh funding to expand its digital sustainability platform and enter new European markets.
The funding round was led by Spain’s largest dairy cooperative, CAPSA FOOD (Grupo Central Lechera Asturiana), with participation from Mercadona through Angels Capital, and Tech Transfer by CLAVE, a fund backed by leading agri-food companies.
Founded in 2020 by Alejandro Vergara and Cian White, ODOS emerged from a joint effort between University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin and is supported by their respective knowledge transfer offices.
The company has developed the ODOS Mitigation Toolbox, a digital platform that helps organisations in the agri-food sector shift from measuring emissions to actively reducing them across their supply chains. The platform is capable of addressing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions through strategic decarbonization planning, real-time adoption tracking, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
“The trust our investors place in our mission and management gives us the strength to scale our impact,” said CEO Alejandro Vergara. “With agriculture responsible for nearly 15% of global greenhouse gas emissions, transforming this sector is one of the most powerful ways to tackle climate change.”
A Practical Tool for a Complex Challenge
ODOS enables cooperatives and food producers to comply with growing climate regulations while also improving profitability and supply chain efficiency. The system is aligned with international sustainability frameworks like CSRD and SBTi, and it supports carbon insetting and operational optimization. The platform empowers users with data-backed decision-making, helping verify and demonstrate real impact on the ground.

ODOS currently works with cooperatives and food producers across Europe and is supported by Lanzadera, a prominent Spanish accelerator based in Valencia. Its international team of 11 people from nine countries underscores the startup’s global ambition and cross-border relevance.
“Alejandro has spent many years focused on delivering a solution that is effective, measurable, and scalable for his clients,” said Pepe Peris, Managing Director at Angels Capital. “ODOS provides both technology and strategy so companies can make decisions that truly reduce their environmental impact.”
Rubén Hidalgo, Open Innovation Director at CAPSA FOOD, emphasized the dual benefit of the partnership: “With Alejandro and his team, we back talented entrepreneurs while strengthening the dairy sector through innovation—achieving greater environmental, social, and economic sustainability.”
The €680,000 investment marks a strong vote of confidence in ODOS’s model and positions the startup for commercial scaling and product development. The funds will be used to enhance its data-collection platform, refine decarbonization tools for agri-food supply chains, and support market expansion beyond Spain.
