Israeli food-tech start-up Meala has announced a strategic collaboration with global science company DSM-Firmenich to revolutionise the plant-based protein industry. Together, they aim to improve taste, texture, and nutritional value without relying on artificial additives or chemical processing.

The partnership focuses on developing cleaner-label plant-based products by using Meala’s proprietary platform, which restructures plant proteins to better mimic the texture and mouthfeel of meat.

By combining Meala’s cutting-edge technology with DSM-Firmenich’s extensive expertise in food innovation, the duo intends to create a new standard for alternative proteins.

“We are thrilled to join forces with DSM-Firmenich,” said Hadar Shor, CEO of Meala. “Our goal is to make plant-based foods more appealing and accessible without compromising on quality or clean-label demands. This partnership accelerates that mission.”
