  • Funding Success: Ahmednagar-based D2C startup KisanKonnect raised $4.5 million in a Series A round led by Mistry Ventures, with participation from notable investors like Times Group’s Brand Capital, Shilpa Shetty, and others, following a $3.7 million pre-Series A round led by Green Frontier Capital.
  • Strategic Plans: The funding will be used to enhance technology infrastructure, scale operations, expand into urban markets, and integrate AI for efficient farm sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Sustainable Farming: Co-founded in 2020 by Vivek and Nidhi Nirmal, KisanKonnect connects over 500 farms and 5,000 farmers with customers, promoting sustainable and regenerative farming while offering fresh fruits, vegetables, and hormone-free dairy products.
  • Innovative Delivery: The company has transitioned from a 48-hour delivery model to 4-6 hours in Mumbai and Pune, with a pilot for 30-minute delivery, aiming to excel in the quick-commerce market.

Ahmednagar-based direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup KisanKonnect has raised $4.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Mistry Ventures, with participation from Times Group’s Brand Capital, actress Shilpa Shetty, VC-Grid, Vishwang Desai, and other family offices. This follows the $3.7 million pre-Series A funding the company secured earlier, led by Green Frontier Capital.

The funds will be used to enhance the startup’s technology infrastructure, scale its operations, expand its presence in urban markets, and integrate AI into farm sourcing and supply chain processes to increase efficiency.

Co-founded in 2020 by Vivek Nirmal and Nidhi Nirmal, KisanKonnect connects over 500 local farms with customers, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, and premium dairy products at fair prices. The company works with over 5,000 farmers, promoting sustainable and regenerative farming methods.

“We see tremendous potential in branded fresh fruits and vegetables for quality-conscious, convenience-seeking urban consumers. These consumers are increasingly mindful of what they eat, and the biggest challenge is ensuring access to fresh, safe produce at fair prices. Our D2C model, combined with a highly specialized, tech-enabled, and temperature-controlled supply chain, not only meets this demand but also offers complete traceability for consumers,” said Vivek Nirmal, Founder and CEO of KisanKonnect.

The startup has built a robust, tech-enabled supply chain, distributing produce through its mobile app and an expanding network of KisanKonnect Farm Stores in Mumbai and Pune. Its product offerings include hormone-free and antibiotic-free dairy items, which have gained significant consumer attention.

KisanKonnect initially operated on a 48-hour delivery model but now delivers within 4-6 hours across Mumbai and Pune. The company has also launched a pilot for 30-minute delivery, aiming to establish a strong foothold in the quick-commerce market.

“We started with a 48-hour delivery model just four years ago. Today, we deliver within 4-6 hours across Mumbai and Pune. Our recent pilot for 30-minute delivery has been highly appreciated by consumers,” added Nidhi Nirmal, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer.

With this new funding and its emphasis on leveraging technology and sustainable farming practices, KisanKonnect is poised to revolutionize access to fresh, high-quality produce for urban consumers.
