A 3-day International Conference on “AgriTech Intelligence and Beyond: Cutting Edge Innovations in Agriculture and Allied Sciences” (AI-CIAS) concluded on Thursday October 18, 2024, at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Shuhama campus, SKUAST-Kashmir.
The event brought together over 500 participants from medical, agricultural, veterinary, and aquaculture sciences in a hybrid format.
Organised by the Division of Veterinary Biochemistry in collaboration with the Agriculture Forum for Technical Education of Farming Society (AFTEFS), the conference focused on harnessing modern technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), to advance agriculture and related sectors.
The valedictory function featured Prof. Haroon Rashid Naik, Director of Research and Planning at SKUAST-Kashmir, as the chief guest, joined by Prof. Shayaib Ahmad Kamil, Dean of FVSc & AH, Dr. Krishnendra Singh, Vice President of AFTEFS, and Dr. S. Mudasir Rashid, the Organising Secretary.
In his address, Prof. Naik emphasised the need for adopting disruptive technologies and fostering start-ups to address the pressing issues of climate change and genetic conservation. He highlighted the importance of real-time data generation for better planning, especially to benefit marginalised communities.
Prof. S. A. Kamil commended the conference’s role in inspiring action towards sustainable, technology-driven solutions in agriculture and allied fields, while Dr. Krishnendra Singh expressed gratitude to SKUAST-K for hosting the event.
