The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) took the lead in representing the nation, with Regional Director Pritee Chaudhary participating in the Future Food Forum. India’s pavilion showcased a diverse array of food and agricultural products, highlighting the country’s growing influence in sustainable agriculture and food innovation.
During the event, Chaudhary stressed the importance of repurposing food waste for industrial uses like biofuel and soap production, instead of simply discarding it. She advocated for minimising waste sent to landfills and proposed that composting should be considered only as a last option.
