Program Overview and Objectives
The AgriTech Challenge Pro is tailored for teams comprising 2-4 co-founders, aged between 18 and 35, residing in Ghana. Applicants are expected to have completed tertiary education or be current tertiary students, and their business ideas must address pressing issues within the agricultural sector. A notable emphasis is placed on encouraging female-led teams to apply, reflecting KIC’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The program’s core mission is to drive technological innovation to enhance productivity, improve yields, and generate employment opportunities within Ghana’s agricultural landscape. The First Pitch Event: Showcasing Groundbreaking Innovations
From March 12th to 14th, 2025, KIC hosted the First Pitch event for the 2025 AgriTech Challenge Pro. This pivotal gathering brought together 61 startups from 16 esteemed academic institutions, including the University of Ghana (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and the University of Cape Coast (UCC). These teams presented a diverse array of innovative solutions aimed at transforming various facets of the agricultural sector, from production and post-harvest processes to marketing and distribution.
