Innovative agritech enterprises across Africa now have a unique opportunity to scale their solutions, thanks to the Africa Agri-Food Development Programme (AADP). The Irish government-backed initiative is offering matched grant funding of up to €250,000 for high-impact partnerships between African and Irish businesses committed to building resilient, sustainable agri-food systems.

The AADP’s 2025 funding round is specifically designed to accelerate climate-smart agriculture, digital farming platforms, and modern value chains. With co-investment support covering up to 50% of total project costs, agritech startups and SMEs can de-risk growth and unlock new markets while advancing food security and livelihoods.

Why This Matters for Agritech Innovators
The programme recognises that technology is a game-changer for African agriculture—from precision irrigation and farm data analytics to traceable supply chains and smart processing solutions. Projects funded under the AADP must demonstrate clear commercial potential as well as social and environmental impact, aligning with global sustainability goals and local development priorities.

Funding Categories Available:
Feasibility Studies: Up to €100,000 to validate the viability of agritech concepts or digital agriculture models.
Full Commercial Projects: Up to €250,000 in matched funding to launch or scale proven solutions that empower farmers and modernise agri-food markets.
