AGCO Corp. (NYSE: AGCO), the global manufacturer of agricultural machinery and precision agriculture technology, has named Brian Sorbe as president of its PTx division, effective August 25, 2025.
The appointment is aimed at accelerating the company’s push into smart farming solutions and reaching its target of $2 billion in precision agriculture sales by 2029.
Sorbe, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in precision agriculture, global sales, and product development, joins from Topcon Positioning Systems, where he served as senior vice president and general manager. His career at Topcon included leading cross-functional teams in technology development for mixed fleets, product strategy, marketing, and mergers and acquisitions integration.
AGCO Chairman, President and CEO Eric Hansotia described Sorbe as a leader with “passion for agriculture and ability to inspire teams,” noting that his expertise in channel development and ag tech innovation will strengthen PTx’s retrofit solutions and farmer education initiatives. “Under Brian’s leadership, PTx will deliver on our vision to be the trusted partner for industry-leading, smart farming solutions,” Hansotia said.

Raised on a farm in Iowa, Sorbe began his career at Ag-Chem Equipment in Minnesota, now part of AGCO. He holds a business administration degree from Purdue University and has postgraduate certifications in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and agricultural robotics. Sorbe will be based at PTx’s Tremont, Illinois, site.
