Aerometrex Limited (ASX: AMX), a geospatial tech company located in Australia, has announced that it has signed a material LiDAR contract for approximately $1.45 million (GST exclusive) with the Sydney-based company, Agronomeye.
This LiDAR data will form the basis for creating landscape models that can be combined with other data sources such as livestock management data, yield maps, weather and on-farm sensor data, to empower farmers to balance social, environmental, and financial goals.
Aerometrex Limited is a leading aerial survey and mapping company which specialises in aerial imagery subscription services (MetroMap), LiDAR, and 3D. Established in 1980, the business is operational in Australia, while also extending its 3D services on a global scale. Agronomeye is an Australian agritech company, advancing the use of technology in agriculture. The company uses highly-detailed imaging technology, combined with advanced data modelling in their proprietary platform, AgTwin™, to enable farmers, and other agriculture stakeholders to make calculated and informed decisions. Aerometrex’s data will be absorbed into Agronomeye’s AgTwin™ platform, to provide farmers with the information needed to transform their farm practices, including increasing productivity, biodiversity, animal welfare, water use efficiency and carbon projects.

In addition, Agronomeye has partnered with RegenCO, a leading natural capital business in Australia, to develop carbon farming projects that diversify income and secure long-term food supply, while also increasing environmental resilience. RegenCo helps farmers balance their social, environmental, and financial goals, to build a strong fort in agriculture. The company has registered carbon projects across 4 million hectares in three states in Australia, and aims to increase this to tens of millions in the coming decade.
