ADQ, an investment and holding company in the United Arab Emirates, has begun its collaborative project with Safe Haven Solutions, a Netherlands-based sustainable agriculture provider, to construct a revolutionary greenhouse at the ADQ’s AgTech Park in KEZAD. The high-tech greenhouse will be housed in a 10-hectare facility and will harness cutting-edge technology to strengthen agricultural self-sufficiency in the UAE.
In the first phase of the project, the greenhouse facility will be optimally operated to reduce its carbon and water footprint. This will be achieved through the use of an effective cooling system within the facility. The environment in the greenhouse will also be controlled to ensure the year-round cultivation of tomatoes and cucumbers. In the second phase, the project will enter its commercial stage and double its cultivation size to 20 hectares. With the prospects for this project, residents in Abu Dhabi can be assured of fresh and high-quality produce all year round.
