Indoor farming leaders 80 Acres Farms and Soli Organic have announced a strategic merger to form one of the world’s largest and most advanced indoor farming networks.
The new company, which will operate under the 80 Acres Farms name and be headquartered in Hamilton, Ohio, projects first-year revenues nearing $200 million.
The merger unites 80 Acres Farms’ technology-driven GroLoop™ platform with Soli Organic’s extensive retail footprint and agronomic expertise built over 35 years. Together, the combined operation will serve more than 17,000 U.S. retail locations, supported by a nationwide farm and logistics network designed for regional redundancy and just-in-time delivery.
“Vertical farming is entering the next phase of business maturity,” said Mike Zelkind, co-founder of 80 Acres Farms and CEO of the merged company. “This merger unites two top operators with the scale, economics, and teams to deliver fresher, better-tasting produce that is locally grown, pesticide-free, and climate-resilient.”
Walter Robb, former co-CEO of Whole Foods Market and co-chairman of Soli Organic, described the merger as a win for both retailers and consumers. “Retailers today want product quality, supply chain resilience, and differentiated offerings. This merger delivers all of that,” he said.
With seven vertical farms nationwide, the company expects to produce between 15 and 20 million pounds of fresh produce annually. Its portfolio will include salad kits, herbs, tomatoes, and microgreens, combining organic field-grown expertise with advanced vertical farming capabilities.

The integration brings together experienced teams in engineering, plant science, and food safety, while leveraging recent investments in technology and product diversification — including acquisitions from Kalera and partnerships with biotech firm Plantae Biosciences.
Tisha Livingston, co-founder of 80 Acres Farms and CEO of Infinite Acres, the company’s tech subsidiary, said the combination of GroLoop™ with Soli’s agronomy know-how will accelerate innovation. “We’re able to move faster, work smarter, and deliver more value across the supply chain,” she noted.
